Adventure Games : An adventure game is a game where you don't have to have fast reflexes , its more of a thinking game where you have to figure out what you are going to do to get to the next level.

The game that taught me the most educational value is Super Chick sisters. This game taught me the most about a social issue is because it taught me about how McDonalds and other food places abuse chickens.
2. The game or games that taught me about a new or existing social issue:
There wasn't really any more social issues beside the game Super Chick Sisters.
3. The game or games I liked best:
The game I liked best was ATV Safety .
4. What happens in the game or games:
What happens in this game is that you are supposed to find objects and use them to kill certain monsters. You are supposed to leave to different places where you kill the monsters and unlock other places.
5. How you play the game or games:

You play these games by first looking on what you have to do and then you figure out your strategy on how you are going to get to the next place that your supposed to go to.

Genre 1 : Action - Action games are usually made up pf characters that are fighting or engaging in violence , although not always violent.

The game that taught me a new educational skill is the Brain Pop education. The reason this one taught me the most is because it taught me about bacteria and how it effects you. It also taught me how you can prevent bacteria from being in different places.

The game that taught me the most educational value is the Brain Pop education . This taught me the most about germs and how we do not pay much attention to it when we should. It taught me that even though they are little things they make a huge impact on our life.

The game I liked best was Zeit Geist.

-What happens in the game:

In this game you have to first in the beginning answer some questions about the Myths of Greek Gods. After that you then play the game.

-How do you play it:

You play this game by having the weapon given to you and you walk and jump to get to the next level. Also you kill the robots or any other objects that may be after you. You earn things call chips. They are your school from what I understand.

Gamers Solve Scientific Problems Blog 5

How did gamers use the computer game Foldit to solve the protein folding mystery?
They used the computer to solve puzzles which unlocked different things that helped find this Foldit. They were told to solve the puzzles even though they have no background within this subject.
Who can particpate in this problem solving and be a player in Foldit?
Anyone with no background in biochemistry can solve these puzzles. I think that they chose people with no background because if people with background research on this would be able to find this Foldit within a short amount of time.
What can critical thinking do for science?

In science critical thinking can be very very helpful because you might need to find something out and we cant use any type of resource. Also it would be helpful with the Stars test.
If you could solve a mystery through gaming for any kind of disease or illness in the world, what would it be?

If I could design a game to solve a mystery for a disease or illness it would be for cancer. The reason why is because Cancer is a big issue within our community and country as well. I would also do a mystery game for diabetes . Although there is something that makes it better there is still not a really great and accurate cure for it. I would do this because it effects a lot of people individually and also family wise.

Mini Game 9/23/11 Blog 4

Was it hard to make your mini game? What was the best part of this topic? The worst part?The only hard thing about making the mini game is the code. The codes are very confusing. Although I had to go back like five different times to correct my code I corrected my codes and the game worked. The best part of this topic with me is that the bunny loses points whenever the wolf hits it. The best thing about making the game is the part where you are converting the object to a Symbol. Also adding the instance name and properties. The worst part was again with the coding. Although its hard I still got it. the coding was very confusing it was hard to figure out . I went back to my teachers code and also other students code and thats how I got the code to work. Although it took a while to finish it at least we still got it and it works.

Section One:

How old were you on September 11,2001?

I was 3 when September 11,2001 happened.

When did you first learn about the attacks and who explained the attacks to you?

I first learned about the attacks when I was around ten. I was watching t.v in my room and it was the History channel , I asked my mom what 9/11 was and she explained to me that the world trade centers had been attacked. the next day I learned about it more in school.

What kind of impact did these attacks have on your life or your parents life?

These attacks made a big impact on my grandmother . It was effective because one of her friends was in New York at this time. It also effected my mom because ever since then my mom has been protective , My grandmother told me this.

Section Two:

What was he issue with this game?

The issue was that it was very poorly thought out and it offended a lot of people that were victims of 9/11.

How do you feel about it ?

I feel that it is very sad that someone would make a game out of it when a lot of people died because of that attack.

What is the problem with portraying such an awful violent event through a video game?

The problem is that it is saddening that so many people died and that in the game there's no possible way that you can win , It is a very rude , wrong and so many other things.

How can you make sure that your web games to tell the whole story or teach a lesson in a honorable way?

I think we should do it by not promoting violence and by promoting helpful things.

2 Single Story 2011

"Danger of a Single Story"

1. What does it mean to have a "Single Story" a place or community? To have a "Single Story" is to have an opinion or thought about an area, without knowing all there is to know about this area. Like saying a biased opinion about the place.Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community?A story that I once heard about my community, which is East Austin. The story I heard I knew was a stereotype. I knew it was a stereotype because the person that told me this story said that East Austin was full of people who don't have jobs and are poor also that all the teens are gang bangers. What was missing is that the girl was being dumb because she didn't think that she lived in East Austin. Also because not everyone in East Austin is poor and not all teens are gang bangers.Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community? A single story about another place is in the North side of Austin there's nothing but white people and people who are rich and are stuck up. I learned this story because my aunt told me it and when I was little my grandfather had a lot of money and he lived in the North. I could find out more about this community by going and visiting more.How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community? I think a game can make people or help people experience it as it is . It should't be bias or have any stereotypes in it. I think someone from that point of view should make that game.

1 Cyberbuylling 2011

This is my first blog post of the 2011-2012 school year.

What is cyberbullying ? Cyberbulling is when someone from an online website harasses you or poses as a person that will harass you.

What are the different types of cyberbullying ? The different types of cyberbullying are impersonating m gossiping and threat.

What should you do if you are being cyberbullying? If you are being cyberbullied you should tell a trusted adult or friend. If you choose a friend to tell the friend will have to report it to an adult.

How does the main character feel about using "clicksters" in the beginning of the film? In the beginning of the film Taylor ( The main character ) didn't really like Clicksters . She didnt want to use it and also she couldn't because she had no way to.

What is her family situation? Taylor's family situation I think also affects her a little. Her parents are divorced and she told her father she never wanted to see him again. Taylor has a little brother. Her realationship with her mother and brother is good.

What types of friendships does she have? She has good friendships that are good . Then Taylor and one of her friends start having issues.

When does the bullying start? To me the bullying start in the beginning because one ,of the bullies Lindsay starts to verbally bully Taylor. Then the cyberbullying starts when Taylor joins the online website Clicksters.

What is the result of cyberbullying that Taylor experiences?

The experiences that she takes in is by trying to commint suicide. Taylor tried to commit suicide because of the cyberbullying gong on--the website clicksters.

What type of cyberbullying does Taylor experience?

She experiences people calling her outside of her name and posting bad things on her profile and spreading rumors. She also experienced her "Bestfriend" impersonating a person.

What would you do if you were in Taylor's shoes? I would've of been really mad but I wouldn't had tried to kill myself. First I would've printed out everything that has been happening on the site and then I would've deleted it.

How does Taylor react to the mean comments people keep posting about her?

In reaction to everything Taylor trys to commit suicide.

Does she ever try to stop people from passing insults ? What could she have done differently?

She does not she just looks and then leaves . I think she could've erased the profile and not get on anymore. She also could've printed everything and contacted police and adults.

How do you think Taylor felt about her friends betraying her?

I think she felt sad and mad because it was her best friend who had did that to her. I would've been very mad too. Although she was mad she still accepted Samantha's apology.

What kind of change do you see Taylor experiance things from the film?

I see her changing by when she goes to the counseling classes that her mother put her in. I also see her change when she finds out that her friend was impersonating James. Also when she continues to learn other peoples problems are the same as hers she tells her mom and other people that she wants to raise awareness about cyberbullying and what people/ teens are going through.
