I would like to have a lot of the moving and crashing stuff in my game.I would like to learn how to make the objects move and stuff.I would also like to learn how to make the figure in a good way.I would like to look at the animation.I would also like to put sound on my game.

"Strange Days on Planet Earth"

Part 4

• The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is decreasing.
• These Scientists have to use black nets to catch the plankton so that they won't see it coming. That way it is easier to catch them
• When the waters are cooler the numbers add but,when the waters are hotter the amount decreases.
• Plankton are dieing because the water is getting warmer.
• Some animals in California are driven to the north because of global warming.
• The reason scientist stress about this is because even though plankton is a small creature they make a big difference in the food web if they die.
• The tides in the water are affecting the organisms that live on the edge of the land.
• The crabs heart rate is going up because of the warming of the water.
• What we put in the atmosphere affects others and the same idea goes for what they do also.
• It used to be that not a lot of people had asthma in her town but now there are lots of kids that have asthma.She does not know the reason why.
• Coral Reefs are dieing and getting deceases.
• Lake Chad used to be Africa's largest lake.Then a decade long drought dried it out.
• This lake produced so much fish that they built a lab.
• A different part of the earth is different.Instead of getting heat they are getting dust.
• Now the scientist believe that the reason those kids are getting asthma is because of the dust in the air.
• The scientist think that the dust has a small but powerful decease.
• The scientist found out that there is a decease in the dust.(seafan decease)
• They are wondering why all of a sudden the dust affects now because the dust has been blowing for a long time and now we are getting the problems.
• The Indian oceans water temperatures is rising.
• The energy ripples through the land like a wave in a pool.That brings more dust to the Caribbean.Which is why the kids are getting asthma.

Part 5(Predators)

• Scientist are starting to think that wild animals are causing for the trees and global warming.
• They think that we would be better off without them.(Mountain Lions, Tigers, Wolfs,etc.)
• When the scientist went out into the wild they saw that lots of things have changed.
• It changed because of a flood that had happened.
• The forest was full and there was a lot of animals.
• The monkeys have now ran up to the top of the trees.
• Since there are not a lot of trees now the monkeys are squished together and now they fight for food.
• All the animals have gone so destructive.
• They are blaming the animals because they are spreading deceases and damaging our property's.
• Yellow stone is the worlds first national park.
• The park is loosing its soil and is changing as much more.
• The people from way back have revealed changes.
• There used to be lots of trees but since 1992 the trees have gone away.But how have they gone away in a protected park range.
• They thought it was Global Warming but it wasnt.
• They thought it was a fire, but it wasnt.
• BY the 1930s Yellow Stones last wolf was dead.By the 1930s wolfs were stated endangered in the U.S.
• They had to bring wolfs from Canada because they didnt have any.
• The grass is starting to grow and the trees are staring to come back because the wolfs are back.

The Age of Stupid

-When the man was younger it wasn’t as hot.
-The glaciers are melting faster & faster each day. They have to build even more steps in order to see what is happening.
-Global Warming can cause hurricanes even stronger then hurricane Katrina.
-we should all start to help by doing something for the community each day.
-In 9 months time they rebuilt the oil rig, but still till this day there are still people without home.

-Lots of things stared to be getting worth fighting for.
-We are the reason!

-Lots of bad things will happen to the earth and people will continuously die because the effects of global warming.
-We have to act now because the people in the future will blame us for their misery and it will be our fault not just one person and we will be in wrong.

In globaloria class we watched a video about global warming and how it is affects humans and animals in this world.This video is about global warming.In this video it says that global warming is increasing every year.That's not good!This video was made in 2006, which means that global warming could of gone higher.I really think we should take action based on this video.This video was made 4 years ago.It means that if this continues it will get worse and worse.If this continues it will affect the human race and the animals.It will affect and is affecting the animals because it is causing the habitats to either warm up or get too cold.It affect the humans because some of the animals that are dieing are the animals that us as humans need to survive.this video should really stretch out to other people in the world so that everyone can see what type of things are happening.

Coral Reef Adventure

In class yesterday afternoon, we watched a movie called Coral Reef Adventure. This film was about Coral Reefs, how we are affecting them and how other things are affecting them. This film was about two people who have explored lots of Coral Reefs and has also done a couple of test.

A Coral Reef is a living animal.Coral Reefs are found in the oceans.It really depends on where you are at.Coral Reefs are in danger.The things that are affecting the Coral Reefs are Ocean Warming, Over Fishing and also Saltations.Saltation is when the water gets dirty from pollution.Ocean Warming is when the ocean gets hotter then what its supposed to.Over fishing is when fishermen take out to much of the fish population, which affects Coral Reefs.What we can do to prevent destruction fro Coral Reefs are that we can spread awareness about how Coral Reefs help us as human beings.Also on how it helps the other animals in the oceans.Coral Reefs are beneficial to us because some of them are used to get tested and if well tested they make our medicine out of them.What we can do to help out the Coral Reefs is to raise awareness about them.Raise awareness about ho they help us and other animals in the ocean.

The Future of Saving Species

Today in Globaloria we watched a video on the Planet Earth and how humans and other things are affecting animals and there habitats. I took a lot of notes on this video. One of my notes was that the worlds wilderness is in danger. Most of these problems are because of human beings. the human beings are pouching which is killing animals for the animals body parts. Humanity is the cause for some of these problems.Most of these problems that we are causing will affect us as well as the animals. The animals that are losing there habitats are polar bears,elephants and leopards. All of these animals are endangered animals. There are lots of other animal's are endangered. Most of the animals on ground are forced to go up onto mountains because of poaching. Poaching is killing animals for human needs.We need to to help out these animals. It will also affect the human race.

What I learned this past 6 weeks is the flash. The flash was the hardest thing to me in the beggining of the year. I really learned a whole lot about flash.I learned the flash codes and all of that stuff. I also learned a lot about blogging. I didnt even know anything about blogging and when I came to this school I learned so much about it that I could write blogs all day. Another thing I learned is the game stuff. I am in the finals of the game stuff, my teams demo was sent to AMD. My team worked so hard to get our game demo to get sent to AMD. We are so happy and proud that our game demo has made it. I would really like to continue the game. I really want to win. But either way I know that i am still a winner.........

Globaloria

My name is Victoria, I am a student at East Austin College Prep Acedemy. I am going to be writing about a class that I am in. It is called globaloria. This class is about making a game. We make the game in 0.2 flash.

Flash

Today I am going to talk about about how I am doing in flash. During the flash is a little hard and sometimes a little easy. The reason that it is hard is because there are a lot of steps to it. The demo 1 flash file that I made and followed a long with the class was a little hard and a little easy. It was hard because of the steps that we had to do but then it got easy when we were almost at the end. It was easy because at the end all we had to do was dinish the text boxes in the boxes and then test movie. It was also easy in the beginning because all we had to do was make the boxes and add the keyframes. It is hard for me on the other demos because we were in a hurry to do them. It was also hard because we went through the steps pretty fast. Also what made me get behind was that I was absent.

This past week we have been working in flash. We have been learning what to do to make the movements and all of that kind of stuff. During flash the only thing that has been confusing and a little hard is the steps. It is confusing because they are to fast and in one step there are a bunch of other steps. I think something that could be done about us being comfortable is that the teacher can go around the class more often to check if we are correct and doing everything the right way. I think that the flash coding is important to remember. I think it is important to remember because later on in your life you will have to do it again maybe. Also later in 7th grade through college you might have to make a game. It is very important to remember the coding also because you might have to use the same coding later on while you are working on your game. Really I do not think flash is hard. I mean sometimes it is but not all the time. Most of the time I follow along and do it right. Then I make a mistake. I think I will get all the training I need here at this school for flash. Most of the times that there are distractions I do not pay any attention to them. But, sometimes when there are big distractions I do get caught of guard. Distractions don't really bother me as much as it does the other kids. It does not keep me from understanding flash at all. For the distractions that I do have I think what can be done about it is that the principal can visit the class out of nowhere to catch the students that are being distractive and have a parent teacher conference or detention. I think that the video tutorials are helpful because they go step by step slowly and they are specific. The reason they are good is because they go slowly and specifically. I think that globaloria could improve on the videos by having the screen not be to blurry. And that's pretty much it about the videos. Some ways that I can make myself better understand flash is that I can follow along on my own computer and I can ask more questions to the teacher , because most of the time I don't ask very many questions. I feel that flash is a very helpful think to do. It is very so fun to do also. It is fun to do because we can get confused and then say"oooooohhhhhhh I get it" and then we can laugh about it.I think that it will help me and any others of my classmates in the future because since they have learned it they can have a career in flash.

THE VISIT

Yesterday we had a visit from a lady that works with flash. I really could not understand what she was saying half of the time because she went really fast. Her name was Shanon. Also she really was mean. But, out of all of it I did learn a lot of things from it. It was fun. We learned how to put our prototype. We learned how to put our code for the hyperlink. The hyperlink lets us go to our flash lash prototypes into our wiki pages. We did learn a lot of things from Shanon but she was very loud. That was good so I could here her. We also learned how to put the code to put our sort of hyperlink to get to our flash just encase we would have to edit our paper folder and work on it from any computer. We also learned how to copy and past the codes in order to make the hyperlink to our flash. In would and probably would not like for the Shanon to come back. But I most likely would like her to come back.

Team progress

I am writing about my teams team progress. I am not going to say anything bad . Because they might take it the wrong way. My team has been getting along great. Sometimes there are disagreements but we figure out a way to work them out. There has not been any unresolved issues because when we have one issue we call a meeting to work them out.During the team assighments everyone does there work. Sometimes we al have mistakes that our friends help us with. Also while we are working we have little 5 minuete breaks. I think thatt our game has been coming along great now that we are in groups because if we were still individuals we would have lots more work to do than what we do now. I feel that we have a good game topic that will help people understand the objective. I feel that my game topic and the one game topic that we have now are really the same.

Drawing in Flash

I am writing about drawing in flash. I am not going to show how to draw in flash because it is a lot of work. Anyways I am writing about drawing in flash and what I learned while drawing in flash. Before I started to draw in my flash I had to watch a video. FLASH VIDEO!!The video showed all the important stuff about the tools that you will need to use during the assessment that is given to you. Also it talks about how you can make the outlining and a perfect square, oval and circle. That's about it on the flash video. I did learn some new techniques in flash. I learned how to make a perfect circle in flash and learned how to do the outlining in the end. The subject of our game is math Objective 4 project and a social issue. To be honest we actually don't really have a social issue , But we did put a lot of math into it. Also there will be 4 levels in our game. I have learned a lot since my last blog entry. I would like to learn even more about drawing in flash. Even though it is hard to work on it is a very good thing to learn. Because you can become great things and have a good job.I actually would like to learn more about drawing in flash because there are a lot of things that you can do or become. Even though it is hard work. I would very much like to see someone that I know and as well myself become wealthy just because I learned flash, But in order to do that you will need to have more and more education and go to college.

SNOW DAY

Today it was snowing in Austin TX. Usually it never snows in Austin ,Tx

but today it did. We were all so excited about the snow. Today we got out early for it. It was awesome. When i got home I built a snow man. The snow man had all of the buttons and the face it was awesome. My mom and dad and syblings were outside when I got home. My grandparents were outside also. It was also so good that it was snowing because we got out of school so early because the classes at the end of the day are so boring.I would really like to s hare this moment with other people of the Austin Texas city.

This day will a day to remember because it hardly ever snows in Austin, Tx.

Team Mates

I think working with my team mates is very fun. They all work very so hard and have good thinking. It was very exciting to re-present our paper prototypes and would like to thank the technology teacher for giving us a second chance to re-present the paper prototype. I think that having more time and help-helped us understand the game. It helped me a whole lot because it gave us more time to put our math objective in the game.

It also helped us because the tech teacher had gave us her opinion so we had stuff to work on and we new what to work on. We were not confused anymore after we had help. Some of our frustrations were that we had to re-draw in a period of time. Also the nervousness of all of our team.We were nervous because we new what to do just not so much how to do it so very good. Our triumphant moments were fun.

Globaloria

In my team I got the wiki updater job and the secretary. I am good at these two jobs because I am good at keeping track of updating the wiki. Also I am good at the secretary job because I am organized and I am a good writer In my group we did not have a lot of disagreements. We only had two disagreements, and that was that we were getting confused with the jobs.During our disagreement I had the team captain vote.The other disagreement was on the team name .We resolved that problem by having a vote on the three top team names. But, we resolved that by having everybody vote. As we do our game I look forward to having kids and adults playing my game.I would like to see how many people liked our game . So that I can say that I made a game and that people liked it. The inspiration for my game is "never give up".

My Amazing Blog

My thoughts on globaloria are that it is fun and I enjoy it. I enjoy it because it is a fun class and we learn a lot of things. There are some things that I don't like though because they aer hard to do but at the end I learn them very we and I end up being very very good. In globaloria I have learned a lot of things. Some of the things I have learned are how to write a very good blog. I have also learned a lot about flash. I also have learned how to do a paper prototype. For Example here is a little piece of one of my longest blogs.Last week our class worked on flash. When we worked on flash I thought that it was kind of easy and kind of hard. It was hard because I got confused with the codes that we had to put in. It was easy because I could follow the steps easily. I also think it was hard because it was messing up a lot, but I was able to fix it with help from Mrs.Miller and Laura. I think it is fun to do because we are having an introduction to our game. When we worked on flash we did every thing we had to do and after we finished. I think I did very good during flash working.

I like to blog about a lot of things. I like to blog "period".The reason I like blog is because sometimes we get to blog about anything we want to and I can blog about what I would like to also I like to blog because other people can see my blogs that I write. In globaloria class we are working on our team game. Our team game is about math our mat objective is objective 4. Objective 4 is measurement. So we are doing a game about measurement.In gloabaloria I look forward to learning more about how to make a game. I look forward to learning about my game because I can make my own game later.

My game concept is about measuring and the social issue is about anything. My game ideas are long so I will tell them later.I am excited about creating my first video game because other kids will be able to see and play a game that I made. in our game we are reqiured to have a social issue topic. Our social issue topic is enviroment. But, there is not a lot of things about enviroment in the game there is just a lot of math. the reason we are reqiured to have a math concept is because on our 6 weeks test there were objectives that everyone had missed a couple of questions. So the teacher told put us in groups and had us make a game out of the objective we missed. We have a social issue topic because we want to inform the people about what is going on so far, and how they can change it.

Last week our class worked on flash. When we worked on flash I thought that it was kind of easy and kind of hard. It was hard because I got confused with the codes that we had to put in. This game is my favorite game because it is fun to play and because this game is a brain teaser. In Technology/globaloria we are working on our flash to get an introduction on how to make our minigame.Mrs.Miller wants us to write a blog on how we feel about flash. So here it is. To me flash is important to learn. I think it is important to learn because maybe some time when you are older you would like to go into a Career working as a game designer. So, when you make the game you have to know how to add characters and move them. So flash is an introduction. I feel that flash is a fun and cool way to learn. I also think sometimes it can be a little hard. But, it is still fun. Also there are a lot of hard steps to do and it takes a long time to do them. I really like working on flash during school. It is fun to do. I also like it because it is helping us get a good look on how to make our mini game.

My game is about pollution and math. I will use math in my game by having the character pick up trash from the floor. Also every time they pick one piece of trash up they will gain two points. I will try to do my best on my game. My game genre is action adventure, It is action adventure because while you are playing the game there will be three levels to play, And in order to pass the levels to go to another country( which is the next level) you have to answer a question that is an objective 1 question. I would like the players to learn more about pollution and also more about math(objective 1). I hopee that i make a good game for people to play.
